Income Tax Department Recruitment 2021: The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai has invited applications for the recruitment of meritorious sportspersons in certain games/ sports disciplines. 

These posts include Inspector of Income Tax, Tax Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff. The number of vacancies includes 8 Inspector of Income Tax, 83 for Tax Assistant and 64 for Multi-Tasking Staff.

Interestingly, the pay scale will be as per 7th Central Pay Commission. Pay level- 7 (Rs 44,900 to Rs 142,400) for Inspector of Income Tax; Pay level- 4 (Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100) for Tax Assistant; and Pay Level-1 (Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900) for Multi-Tasking Staff. 

The selected candidates would also be entitled to all the allowance as applicable to Central Government allowance.  

The candidates can apply online through the official website of Income Tax Department Mumbai at https://www.incometaxmumbai.gov.in or https://www.incometaxmumbai.in. Incomplete applications will be rejected summarily. The last date for online submission is August 25 by 23.59 Hrs. 

Age Limit 

18-30 years of age for Inspector of Income Tax; 18-27 age for Tax Assistant; 18-25 for Multi-Tasking Staff. The candidate must have attained the stipulated age as on August 01,2021. The upper age limit is relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years for Unreserved/OBC candidates, 10 years in the case of SC/ST candidates.  

The Departmental candidates with three years continuous service in Central Government can apply up to an age of 40 years (45 years for SC/ST).  

Educational Qualification 

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or equivalent needed for Inspector of Income Tax; Bachelor’s Degree and Data Entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour for Tax Assistant; and Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised University /Board for Multi-Tasking Staff. 

Candidates who have appeared at a qualifying examination or deemed to have appeared, the passing of which would render them educationally qualified to apply for this recruitment but have not been informed of the result can also apply. Such candidates will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite qualifying examination at the time of Document Verification or Ground/ Proficiency Test, failing which such candidates will not be considered for the further selection process. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
